Audrey Thao Berger is a Vietnamese-American choreographer, from San Francisco, currently based in NYC. Inspired by biomimicry, her work explores interdependence, reciprocity, and transformation, blending organic movement with playful physicality. Audrey’s movement practice embraces slowness, deep listening, and relational care, countering the pressures of urgency, disconnection, isolation, and dehumanization. Her Buddhist background and longtime meditation practice inform her creative process, particularly teachings of impermanence and interbeing. Her work is particularly interested in shifting from individualism and exceptionalism toward collectivism and community care.

Audrey’s choreography has been presented at the United States of Asian America Festival, The Place Theatre, Arts on Site, and the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, and she has received support from University Settlement, Motive Brooklyn, The Floor, and the New York State Council on the Arts. In addition to her artistic work, she brings extensive administrative and production experience from roles with Sleep No More, the Brooklyn Arts Exchange, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. Audrey holds a BA in Dance from the London Contemporary Dance School.
